She Loved Our Girls

The Mixa Family is saddened to say goodbye to a dear friend, Emma.  Our girls have fond memories of growing up in the ward where Emma and Ted always took a special interest in them and their activities.  When Rose was in nursery and Emma was her nursery leader, she would often ask to go sit with Sister Allebes halfway through sacrament meeting and we would let her go.  She still treasures the little doll Emma made for her then.  When Jenilyn got married, Emma volunteered to have her bridal shower at their home.  We had a wonderful time and Emma was so gracious about doing it.  She and Ted  always ask about how our girls are doing.  I remember that they came to their wedding receptions and helped.  Once Emma asked me to model some of her clothes at a fashion show at the Calif. State Fair, along with several others.  We had such a good time modeling Emma's classy clothes.  My youngest, Beth, was there watching and Ted took a picture of her, which he later made into a painting and gave to her.  We have been to their home for dinner a couple times and enjoyed delicious food and fun conversation. As my interest in quilting developed, Emma invited me to go with her and a few friends to a quilt show in the Bay Area where she would be judging.  That was a special time as well.  Emma was always so fun to talk to, I loved sitting by her at church and socials.  We love you Emma and we appreciate so much your love and friendship!

What is Your Emma Story?

This blog is a chance to remember and honor Emma by bringing us together in a way that can only be done through a medium like the internet. We love her, we will miss her, but she's here for a short time still, and we want to smile and cry and laugh together with her as much as possible while we can.

Emma has touched a monumental number of lives through her work as a mother, grandmother, friend, teacher, artist, and to Ted as a dear wife. There are countless stories that have already been told many times, and there are many others that we're going to learn for the first time as we read them here.

PLEASE SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS, STORIES AND PICTURES!!!

Not only will we be able to laugh and smile together, even after Emma has passed, but we will be sharing this blog with Emma. If you have a story, long or short, silly or sad, pensive or outrageous, please take some time and share it with us and Emma.

This is such a dear time for all of us. Thank you for your thoughtfulness and prayers.

It's easy! To post to Emma's blog, send an email to emmaallebes.post@blogger.com. If you have a picture(s) that you would like to add, make it an attachment to the email. Your email will post automatically.
