Oh Goodness...the dutch man.

Dianna, Marion,

Oh my goodness, the Edam Cheese and the double salted licorice and Emma's black tongue due to the Dutchman (Emma was into the double salted licorce)! I, not being raised LDS thought she might have been into the Merlot! And the Greer and the Snow families and all the families in the neighborhood! Marion, I always thought your sense of color wonderful as I watched the Allebes family do creations for you! Even yesterday as I watched Emma's daughters, their sense of fabric choice was amazing, even in their personal wardrobe. Liberal use of linen, searsucker and Shenna had on these amazing earrings, and I love their sense of style, and their grace and dignity and, and goodness! So nice to see Kristin and Dianna and all the people who posted. For those of you who may not know, Ted is from Holland and a huge advocate for America and believing in patriotism, but also aware of good cheese (he knew what it was before "cheese parties" were cool. I know it is one of the many things Emma loved about him, his patriotism. There was a fellow-Dutch person who came every week with viands from Holland, in the days before everything is available in groceries, and even if it was, this simple peddlar coming to the home was something appreciated by Ted and Emma, and all the children thought it was fun when the Dutchman would come.

What is Your Emma Story?

This blog is a chance to remember and honor Emma by bringing us together in a way that can only be done through a medium like the internet. We love her, we will miss her, but she's here for a short time still, and we want to smile and cry and laugh together with her as much as possible while we can.

Emma has touched a monumental number of lives through her work as a mother, grandmother, friend, teacher, artist, and to Ted as a dear wife. There are countless stories that have already been told many times, and there are many others that we're going to learn for the first time as we read them here.

PLEASE SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS, STORIES AND PICTURES!!!

Not only will we be able to laugh and smile together, even after Emma has passed, but we will be sharing this blog with Emma. If you have a story, long or short, silly or sad, pensive or outrageous, please take some time and share it with us and Emma.

This is such a dear time for all of us. Thank you for your thoughtfulness and prayers.

It's easy! To post to Emma's blog, send an email to emmaallebes.post@blogger.com. If you have a picture(s) that you would like to add, make it an attachment to the email. Your email will post automatically.

Please remember to include your name somewhere in the email/post.
