EMMA/MOM/OMA'S LAST DAY....

Family & Friends - it is with great tenderness that I need to let Mom's friends and family know that she passed away this evening around 5:30pm. We had a nice quiet day at Mom & Dad's home watching & caring for Mom and helping Dad with some projects. Mom was peaceful and ready....we are so grateful that her last days were short and that we were able to keep her pain free and to care for her during these last few days at home.

We will have a Memorial Service this Saturday, Oct 10, 2:00pm at the LDS Church Deseret Building. It is located at: 8267 Deseret Ave, Fair Oaks, CA, 95628. Funeral arrangements are being taken care of by Price Funeral Home in Citrus Heights.

We would love to have any/all of Mom's family and friends join us for a special Memorial Service in remembrance of Mom's very full life. We cannot possibly extend personal invitations to all that we would like to come. If you are a family member, friend or even acquaintance and would like to come and join us as we remember Mom - we would love to have you there. We will be allowing some time to visit with the family after the Memorial Service.

We will also appreciate your help with continuing to share this info with Mom's family and friends - I simply cannot contact everyone personally about the arrangements on Saturday!

We have already had some inquiries from Mom's friends who would like to honor her memory with a gift. Mom & Dad would prefer a donation to a favorite charity in lieu of flowers. Mom & Dad are very supportive of the Perpetual Education Fund of the LDS Church and would love to have your contributions go to support that effort. Or you may choose a charity of your own. Information about the Perpetual Education Fund and how to donate is available at: http://www.ldsphilanthropies.org/perpetual-education-fund/

We will continue to update the blog: www.emmaallebes.blogspot.com with more stories and memories about Mom and also details about Mom's Memorial Service and would appreciate you continuing to share your thoughts and memories of Mom on that blog. If you're having a tricky time with the blog - just send me an email and I can post it for you. Dad and the rest of our family will continue to enjoy the comments and stories about Mom for a long time to come!

We have much love and gratitude for good friends and family!

  1. We have lost a lovely gifted quilter. Emma taught us all with her giving nature and generous smile. I would like to thank her family for sharing Emma with us all these years.

What is Your Emma Story?

This blog is a chance to remember and honor Emma by bringing us together in a way that can only be done through a medium like the internet. We love her, we will miss her, but she's here for a short time still, and we want to smile and cry and laugh together with her as much as possible while we can.

Emma has touched a monumental number of lives through her work as a mother, grandmother, friend, teacher, artist, and to Ted as a dear wife. There are countless stories that have already been told many times, and there are many others that we're going to learn for the first time as we read them here.

PLEASE SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS, STORIES AND PICTURES!!!

Not only will we be able to laugh and smile together, even after Emma has passed, but we will be sharing this blog with Emma. If you have a story, long or short, silly or sad, pensive or outrageous, please take some time and share it with us and Emma.

This is such a dear time for all of us. Thank you for your thoughtfulness and prayers.

It's easy! To post to Emma's blog, send an email to emmaallebes.post@blogger.com. If you have a picture(s) that you would like to add, make it an attachment to the email. Your email will post automatically.

Please remember to include your name somewhere in the email/post.
